KarmaGunDogs raises and breeds German Shorthaired Pointers as family companions, hunting partners, and field trial competitors that can compete in many different venues.

It all started when Cary brought home a black and white GSP from a small-town Ag teacher. Lily was a quick learner and easily transitioned from obedience and yard work to hunting birds in the field. One fall morning, while sitting in a tree stand deer hunting, Cary thought it was a shame that Lily didn’t get more opportunities to do what came naturally – hunt birds. He also wanted to see how she compared to other dogs in the field. So, we looked at what trials were being run nearby, called and talked to a couple NSTRA folks, entered Lily and showed up the day of the trial.

Lily was paired up against the standing regional champion, so we just hoped that she would go out and find at least one bird. She did what came natural and matched the champion English Setter finding three birds. We were hooked on trialing from that moment on! Lily went on to place 5th Runner Up to the Lone Star Regional Champion of 2014 in her inagural year of trialing. She also finished her AKC Junior Hunt Test title and we began to look at more ways to get in the field with our dogs.
